Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office Receives Cyber Security Grant
The Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office has received a $26,543 grant to enhance cyber security.
The Sheriff’s Office is one of 132 Massachusetts state and local government agencies to be awarded a federal grant that will help protect data and internet-connected systems from attack, damage, and unauthorized access. The Healey-Driscoll Administration has announced Massachusetts government organizations were in total awarded nearly $7 million in grants for cyber security.
The BCSO will use our grant to invest in presence-sense devices that will secure our employees’ work PCs when they are away from their workstations.
“It’s important that we remain proactive against increasingly sophisticated and costly attacks on our systems and private information,” said Sheriff Donna D. Buckley.
The Sheriff’s Office is grateful to the Healey-Driscoll Administration, the Department of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, and the FEMA Federal Emergency Management Agency for making these funds available.
