Treatment Programs
Women’s Therapeutic Treatment Program (WTTP)
The Women’s Therapeutic Treatment Program (WTTP) is a 2- Phase, 90- Day program designed to address criminal and addictive behaviors, reduce recidivism, and promote community safety using gender-responsive strategies.
The WTTP will help by applying techniques for controlling and changing habits of thinking and understanding consequences to destructive habits. We must acknowledge that gender makes a difference, and create an environment based on safety, respect, and dignity. We must also develop practices and programs that are relational and promote healthy connections to children, family, significant others, and the community.
Men's Therapeutic Treatment Program (MTTP)
The Men's Therapeutic Treatment Program is a therapeutic community for men who are housed apart from the general correctional population at the BCCF. The program incorporates discipline, respect for authority, and a coordinated approach involving treatment, education, and security. In addition to daily mandatory group sessions, intensive relapse prevention, anger management, meditation, and job readiness are available to all participants.
Substance Use Disorder Recovery Services
12 Step Meetings
The BCSO provides regular AA/NA meetings to our population in the jail. Volunteers come from all areas of the Cape. Currently, we have 10 different groups from areas around the Cape coming into our facility, providing recovery meetings.
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program
The BCSO provides medicines that have been clinically proven to treat people with substance use disorder. Incarcerated individuals who have active prescriptions for the medications, buprenorphine or methadone will be provided with the same medication when they are incarcerated with us. If they request to be put on one of these medications but do not have a prescription, our medical services team will do a medical assessment to determine effectiveness and dosing before prescribing it.
E-Mat Program
Our E-Mat program provides services to those who are enrolled in our MAT program. This expanded medication treatment program offers one-to-one counseling from a licensed clinician, harm reduction groups, meetings with experienced recovery coaches, and 6 months of community follow-up once released from the facility.
