Barney has been a handler for 6 years and is second in command in the K-9 Unit. His partner Condor is a police service dog and is trained in tracking and criminal apprehension, building searching, area searching and crowd control.

Barney's second partner Carah is a weapons detection dog trained to search for firearms and ammunition. They are both German Shepherds and were imported from Holland. They are 8 and 5 years old respectfully.
