Diretor Kenneth Ballinger has been a K-9 handler for 14 years and is handling his third dog. He is in charge of the K-9 Unit and is the training instructor responsible for training the units 7 dogs. He also trains over 25 other K-9 teams thoughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island.  Kenny's partner is Taku.

Taku is a 4 year old Dutch "Herder" Shepherd and was imported from Holland. Taku's primary function is as a police service dog and is trained for tracking and criminal apprehension, building searching, area searching and crowd control.
