The work of the Sheriff’s Office involves corrections, but also goes beyond corrections into many areas of public safety. This Academy will give citizens a broad perspective of all our departments and many of the other agencies we work with. Presentations include K-9, Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), Special Response Teams, Community Corrections, a tour of the Barnstable County Correctional Facility and much more.
The next Sheriff's Citizens Academy will begin March 22, 2010 and run until May 17, 2010 from 6:00pm-8:30pm on Monday nights. All classes are held at the Barnstable County Correctional Facility (directions here) in Bourne, at 6000 Sheriff’s Place, across from the National Cemetery.
