CodeRED Emergency Notification System
Reverse
9-1-1
CodeRED is an emergency notification service by
which public safety officials can notify residents and businesses by telephone,
or cellular phone about emergency situations in your area. The system is capable of sending messages
only to specific neighborhoods or the entire community.
CodeRED will only be used when emergency situations
arise that you should know about. Some
examples of these situations include:
o Severe Weather
Situations
o Substantial Utility
Outage
o Evacuation Notices
o Missing or Lost
Persons
o Fires or Floods
o Major Roadway Issues
o Significant Criminal
Situations
o Chemical Spills or
Gas Leaks
The
regions currently participating in the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office CodeRED
service are:
Bourne,
Eastham, Falmouth, Sandwich, Truro, Wellfleet and Nantucket
If
you do not see your town listed, please contact your local police department’s
non-emergency phone number to find out if they are using a reverse 9-1-1 system
in your area.
All
residential and business listed and unlisted phone numbers in the participating areas are included in the CodeRED
